Today’s newlearning was about creating videos and we video. During this process we learned about how to find clips that we could post for free and what would happen if we used other images. We learn how to add voice and her redo a video. One important lesson I learned is that when you’re recording a video you need to continue to look at the WebCam instead of looking around, it really looks awkward on Camera and I don’t realize how much I actually do this!! **Note to self!!!!
We played around with an Hour of Code. I think this was pretty interesting and I would like to do more of it in my classroom. However I need to build more of an understanding myself. This gave me the opportunity to do so. Believe it’s a little bit more difficult for adults to jump in and just do it because we get boggled with all the extra information. Kids don’t have that fear and think it something fun and are not afraid to learn.
The other thing that I’m excited about was I discovered what hashtags really meant today. So spent some time playing around with kindergarten hashtags. I think I could get lost finding videos and post from other kindergarten teachers. I feel like this is opened a whole new door for me. I’ve tried using Twitter A few different times and I didn’t understand it. I think this is the key I have been looking for! I am so excited!!!

Kindergarten Science! We are working on Force an Motion.
Ms. Rachel from the Bixby Library did a great activity exploring push and pull in pull. We took that new learning and went out on the playground yesterday to see which piece of equipment used a push and which one needed a pull. They are great scientists!

Bus Information
| The bus driver must see an adult for kindergarten students! Otherwise they will not be dropped off. Also be prepared for the bus to come anywhere between 3:10-3:45 as an estimate. This is subject to change due to stops or other unforeseen events, such as leaving school late, road construction, etc. |

Kindergarten Parent Information Night
Welcome to Kindergarten! I know we are going over a lot of things tonight. Here are some of the resources I talked about. You can click on any of the links to get more information.
Google
Math Program
We use Bridges in Mathematics for our math program. We will be starting the year with basic counting skills and looking at 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. You can see some of the songs, books and online games we will be using here.
Breakfast and Lunch
ACS offers breakfast and lunch here at school. Students will be asked to sign up for what they want for lunch each morning. You can see the menu for the month here.
Our school uses google drive to share a lot of documents with families. It is one of our main methods of communicating. If you do not have access to google drive we can send home paper copies. Most stuff is electronic so please let us know if this doesn't work for you.
Bus
I need in writing your child's after school plans. This is a typical week snapshot of where your child is going and how they are getting there each day.
If your child's after school plans are different than their normal program the best way to let us know is by emailing it to myself (amatot@anwsu.org) and Suzie (shodsden@anwsu.org). The earlier in the day you can do this, the better.
For the first 2 weeks of school, please send in the slips I have provided daily.
The bus driver needs to see an adult at your child's bus stop or they will NOT leave your child.
